Macias Consulting Group Hosts Chinese Delegation
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 13, 2007) – Macias Consulting Group, Inc (MCG), a California management consulting firm serving a wide variety of public entities, hosted 22 delegates from Fujian province, China in its Sacramento offices for a training session on governmental auditing best practices.
The delegation had requested to meet with MCG’s leader, Denise Callahan, as part of its provincial government improvement program, designed to learn and apply performance based management in China.
Callahan discussed best practices in performance auditing followed by a discussion on how to establish and monitor performance based management programs. Macias Gini & O’Connell LLP (MGO) Managing Partner Kevin O’Connell and Partner Ernie Gini also instructed the delegates on objectives, standards and environments related to governmental auditing.
“We welcomed the opportunity to share our experience and knowledge with the delegation,” said Callahan. “Fujian province has experienced record growth in its infrastructure, so the delegates’ role in helping to establish performance-based management systems will be invaluable."
“This was an opportunity to share our governmental knowledge while developing an international connection at the same time,” said MGO Managing Partner Kevin O’Connell. “China is especially compelling to us for relationship-building because we have current clients with operations there.”
Callahan is a GAO trained consultant with twenty years of professional experience serving public entities. Gini and O’Connell are nationally recognized experts in public accounting.
